2012 American Eagle San Francisco Two-Coin Silver Proof Set

I only had one order and ordered a few days before it ended. With no limit i was holding out to make sure they didn't sale a million plus.

I was surprised the last day sales were so low because I figured a lot of big companies would see that they were only at 250,000 and might order a lot more.

My set shipped today - earlier than I expected. But I was more than a bit aggravated that the mint now says they will mint more of the S proofs. At least it won't mint any more of the reverse proofs.

The mint is really out of touch with collectors, yet they mint many coins only for collectors. They'll lose more business in the future after this latest fiasco with the ASEs.

Yeah I've read letters to editor in Numismatic news, a good amount of people aren't too happy about the whole ATB Five ounce coins either...

In this weeks Coin World, page 56, an article proved the mint pulled a fast one and the contempt shown to its customer base. They thought we wouldn't notice, wouldn't squawk as the knife slipped by our shoulder blade.

An admission they knew the Making America set would be released well before the two coin "S" ASE set went on sale. Deliberately wording the "S" set description to be deceptive. What they did borders on fraud.

Yep - the mint conveniently avoided telling anyone what was really going on and what was planned.

Does anyone know for sure if it will have the S mint mark on it or will it just be one of those coins made by San Francisco without the mint mark? I think I would be OK with the later and thinking of how they have messed up it is what the mint should do. On the flip side it is getting the were you have a a Mint, Proof Silver eagle from every mint there is. Next you know the Perth mint is Going to release a special Edition ASE.
